Kate is a first-generation Vietnamese lawyer who has had over ten years of legal experience. Kate completed a combined law and business degree. Kate is a sole practitioner who has developed a wide area of practice over her ten years of working as a solicitor and has developed a reputation for her skilled pragmatic approach towards complex client matters.
Kate is a vocal advocate for human rights. She has represented the disadvantages in many refugee cases. She believes in the important of standing together and make a difference. Kate has a strong passion for the community, and willingness to make a positive change that allow all children to be safe at school, senior rights to be respected, women to be treated equally with men, discrimination must be eradicated, and the people’s voices must be heard.
From 2017-2022, Kate was the Vice - President of the Vietnamese Community in Australia in NSW. In June 2021, Kate was elected to be the President of The Vietnamese Community in Australia. Kate is the first female and also the youngest serving National President of the Vietnamese Community in Australia in its 46 years history. She is a progressive advocate for woman's rights.
In 2018, Kate has established a Vietnamese Youth Group called VCAY which aims to empower, train and support Vietnamese youth. The program was successful and welcomed by all community members.
In September 2024, Kate was elected as councillor for Fairfield City Council term 2024-2028.
